Question: The police arrested Henry Louis Gates, Jr., a black professor at Harvard, at his home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, last week. The police were investigating a possible burglary at Gates' house and suspected Gates until he provided ID. Gates then accused the policeman of being racist. Do you think the Cambridge Police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home?
